garden

This summer our landlord said she didn't want to plant a garden so I could have their garden spot. I was excited because I had already purchased all my seeds not anticipating selling our home first thing in the spring. So I have been diligently tending my garden and it has been my most productive and beautiful garden ever. Here are a few pictures from last night. How long can I last before I have to go to the grocery store again?
From left to right in the top picture you see corn, green beans, beets, carrots, potatoes, peas, onions, and more green beans. There are pumpkins at the front bottom of the pic and the last pic has different squashes in front of the corn . . . in case you were wondering.

nine west pumps

I have been looking for new black pumps. I don't typically buy shoes like this because I am afraid I might tip over. I am also not typically a fan of animal or reptile print shoes. However, I do love these from Nine West. I wish I was ordering them all but I am just trying out the black ones. I'm not sure how often I would wear the others and can't justify buying all three. Oh well, maybe some day I will be more adventuresome like my darling sisters and their stylish ways.

saturday

Dave and Katie came for a visit so we went to the Teton Village bike park for a fun morning on the trails. Our favorite things about The Village this summer have been fantastic bike trails, the kids super bungee tramp, Nick Wilson's lemonades, and being able to enjoy it with family!
After a scrumptious parking lot lunch we headed off to Palisades Reservoir for an afternoon of boating. Keith almost got a 360 on the surf board and the rest of us just had fun trying to stay on the wave. Thanks Katie and Dave for joining us for a fun Saturday!

biking

We spent Saturday at Teton Village in Jackson Hole. They opened their mountain bike park so we joined in the festivities. What a great day! The trails were great and we all had a fun day riding. Neil was a spectacle with his motorcycle helmet and boot scoot bike (he wouldn't wear his regular bike helmet when given the choice). One kid who wasn't a biker walked by him in the parking lot and said, "Look Mom, its a LEGO head!".
Neil cried when we wouldn't let him ride the lift. He said, "I promise if you take me to the top I will use pedals and brakes." I think we'll try that combo on regular flat ground first.
Drew rode the lift and did great until he took a good spill. He decided he wanted to practice his braking a bit before the next ride too.
We got The North Face pics for you Uncle Dave. The tent didn't have any kid size tees to buy so when the reps saw how disappointed the kiddos were they hurriedly handed over stickers and chap stick. Thanks North Face!
Michelle, cousin James, and their friends also came for the day. We'll definitely go again. Hopefully with new bikes . . .

bungee tramp

Teton Village has some fun activities for kids so Drew and Neil decided they wanted to try out this bungee tramp. Both seemed a bit nervous while jumping but when they finished they begged for more. The employees were great and I just had to get pics of them. The one taking the tickets had the same sweaty messing helmet hair Neil did. When we finished we went down to Wilson's and got some cold delicious hand squeezed lemonade.

4th

We had a great 4th. We visited Kirk and Kirsten in Sandpoint and had a great time seeing their new property, playing at the beach, sailing their hobie cat, tubing, water skiing, riding their zip line, climbing their climbing wall, fireworks, and of course just being with them. What a great family of girl cousins! Thanks Kirk and Kirsten for being such wonderful hosts. We all had a great time. The last thing we enjoyed was a fun 4th parade. It is the only thing I took my camera to. What was I thinking? Just lazy perhaps. Here are few pics from the actual 4th. We hope all of you had a great holiday weekend!

boating

A few weeks ago I air chaired for the first time. I was a little nervous after seeing what the wipe outs looked like but everyone said that they didn't hurt. So I went and even though I am not good it was actually quite fun. We also water skied and Keith's favorite, wake surfed. It is always so fun to be on the water. Thanks Hansen's for a great day on the boat!

swimming

Rexburg finally got a pool! It is outdoor and so much fun. Drew and Neil just finished their first set of lessons for the summer and are looking forward to starting their second set in a few weeks. Here are the kids with our friends Jett and Sawyer Summers. Hooray for swimming!

South Dakota

We took a small detour and saw the Badlands of South Dakota and then headed for Mount Rushmore. I was impressed with the venue at Mount Rushmore. I had not been there since I was a young teenager and they have made great viewing areas. We also saw this goat right off the side of the road as we were leaving the Black Hills. If you are going through South Dakota I would recommend seeing the monument. Drew and Neil could never remember the name so to them it was Mount Muckamore!
